Nora Lighting Donates to the 2017 St. Jude Dream Home

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital opened it’s doors in 1962. Since then they’ve invented numerous treatments that have saved the lives of children facing cancer or other life threatening diseases.

They do amazing work and it doesn’t cost families a dime. Families are not charged for treatment, travel, food or housing. St. Jude is able to offer these free services largely due to generous donors.

According to their website, “Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall survival rate for childhood cancer from 20% when the hospital opened in 1962 to more than 80% today. In addition, St. Jude has achieved a 94% survival rate for ALL, up from 4% in 1962, and the survival rate for medulloblastoma, a type of brain tumor, increased from 10 percent to 85% today. And, we won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.”

One of the fundraising programs they offer is called St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway. How it works is simple. People purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win a dream home. Proceeds go back to St. Jude and families who get services there.

Recently a dream home was built and given away in Las Vegas, NV. Element Building Company donated time and materials towards the build of this amazing project. Countless companies sponsored and donated to the build as well. We are proud to say that Nora Lighting was one of the generous donors to this project. Nora Lighting donated 120+ Onyx Series LED Downlights which were installed throughout the home.

“It has been exceptionally rewarding for Nora to participate in the Dream Home project,” said Jilla Farzan, executive vice president at Nora Lighting. “St. Jude has a unique mission and for more than 50 years has given hope to the families of thousands of children with life-threatening diseases.”

The drawing for the Las Vegas dream home was completed on October 11 and won by Pam and Steve Grzebski of Henderson, NV.
